Violet E. Edington of Riverton died Thursday morning, May 27, 2010, at Riverton Memorial Hospital. She was 91. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 1, at the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton with the Rev. Linda Norris of the United Presbyterian Church of Riverton officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Riverton. Violet E. Perue was born in Lovell on June 14, 1918, the daughter of Robert and Minnie Freda (Pregel) Perue. She married William Hugh Edington on May 4, 1934, in Kearney, Neb. He preceded her in death in 1997. She was a life-long resident of Wyoming, coming to Riverton 44 years ago. Their property grew as the family grew and she helped in raising cows, sheep, pigs, chickens, and rabbits. Mrs. Edington was a representative for the Avon Company for 35 years. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Riverton and her family said she enjoyed going to church. She was a member of the B.P.O. Does, and past member of the Eagles Auxiliary. Her family said she enjoyed painting landscapes, gardening, fishing, hunting, going on many family camping trips, playing cards and games with her family, animals, and most of all loved having her family around. Survivors include her partner of 11 years, Art Martinez; sons, Dave Edington and his wife Rita; daughters, Mary Randall and her husband Gene, Phyllis Nordwell, and Carol Ray; 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren; one sister. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, William H. Edington; two grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two sisters, and three brothers. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
