Farrell John Maw passed away peacefully on February 12, 2025. He was born on March 26, 1930 in Ogden Utah to Wilmer John and Selma Wood Maw. His mother Selma passed away in 1932 from pneumonia. Wilmer John Maw married Nellie Taylor, who raised all 5 children.
Farrell grew up in Plain City, UT along with two brothers and two sisters. He attended school in Plain City, UT until grade 10, where he then attended Weber High School. He attended two years of college at Weber State. He graduated with degrees in accounting, office management, diesel engineering, auto mechanics and machine shop.
He then served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Samoan Islands from 1950 to 1953.
He married Sharald Tyree in 1953 and they had six children together. In 1974 he married Marie Hagstrom, and they just celebrated 50 years together.
They traveled internationally for his job for several years to Greece, Russia, Germany, England, Scotland, Ireland, Spain, Bahamas, and Mexico. In 2006 they sold their home and bought a motor home and traveled full time all over the country, making life long friends along the way. Farrell enjoyed snowmobiling, boating and water skiing . As they traveled and settled to winter in Yuma, AZ they enjoyed Jeeping and exploring the desert in side by sides. Recently, they sold the motor home and moved permanently to Riverton, Wyoming. When they finally settled in Riverton, he enjoyed helping on the Angel Ranch and was driving the tractors helping in the hay fields, picking up hay bales until he was 93. He loved helping out whenever he could.
Farrell was preceeded in death by his parents, and brothers Eugene and Orlo, sisters Idona and Emma, two sons, Kevin and Gregory, step-daughter Kathy Hanners, and grandson Shawn Wilkinson.
He is survived by his wife, Marie, daughter Debra Lange, sons, Jeffory (Tibi), Phillip (Deb), and Bryce (Kathy). He is also survived by step-children, Joyce Pritchard (Dan), Judy Wilkinson, Nancy Moyer (Rusty), Jackie Angel (Terry), Steve Miller, and Joel Hagstrom. He is also survived by 36 grandchildren, 81 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren.
He will be dearly missed by all.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Davis Funeral Home.
