Memorial services for Robert Romon Dahlstedt, 78, will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 10, 2010 at Hudson Town Hall. He died July 6, 2010 at the Wind River Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Riverton. Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton.
He was born December 24, 1931, in Burwell, Nebraska on the family farm to Archie and I. And Mary M. (Loeffler) Dahlstedt.
He enlisted in the United States Air Force on January 1, 1950 and served until the end of the Korean War.
On September 24, 1951, he married Corinne J. Rockford in Burwell, NE. The family moved to Lander in 1961 and then to Hudson in 1978. He worked for the Lander Journal as a pressman from 1954 until 1955. He also worked for the NOLS, Lander Ready Mix and the US Postal Service from 1979 until retirement in 1993.
He was a member of the American Legion, NRA and the Catholic Church. He is a former Golden Gloves Boxing Champion in High School and the 8th Air Force Light Weight Boxing Champion in 1950 in Rapid City. His family says that Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, prospecting, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his sons, Kenneth Dahlstedt and wife, Kim of Cody, Robert W. Dahlstedt and wife, Pam of Casper, Daniel Dahlstedt and wife, Lori of Naalehu, HI; daughters, Victoria Gilmore and husband, George of Farmington, NM, and Rebecca Yarbor and husband, Christopher of Lander, WY, sister, Dorothy White of Burwell, NE, 20 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and brother, Quentin Dahlstedt.
