Mr. Daniels passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, March 17, 2025 in Shoshoni, Wyoming succumbing to a long battle with MS.
Milton was born on October 23, 1943, son of Wayne Milton and Laura “Freeda” May (Keehmer) Daniels in Sheridan, Wyoming. He grew up in various towns throughout Montana and Wyoming as his dad worked construction. He left home at 16 years of age, breaking horses for ranches and later working construction. Milton eventually partnered with his brothers and dad for their own construction business, building dirt dams on public and private lands. He was then drafted into the Marine Corps. He became a heavy equipment instructor before being sent to Vietnam, where he cleared roads for the troops. Milton was awarded numerous medals and earned Sgt E5 ranking.
Following his time in the service, Milton returned to Ten Sleep, where he met and married Donna Lyons. This loving union lasted for 54 years.
After the family business dismantled, Milton worked for a construction company in Worland, WY. In 1980, he and Donna bought a dairy farm in Riverton, WY. With their children, they ran the farms for several years. After selling the cows, he worked for Fremont County Roads before he bought his own truck and equipment, belly dumping and finally hauling hay. Milton retired due to the tolls of his illness.
Milton was a workaholic and took great pleasure in his work. He was very personable and well liked by those he met. He had a bright smile and friendly personality. Milton loved his family and was always there to support their endeavors. He was fond of his horse, Eli and the dogs and cats.
In his young adulthood, he enjoyed watching and participating in rodeos as well as going out dancing and working the farm. After he was diagnosed with MS, Milton enjoyed watching westerns, (especially Gun Smoke), looking out his window at the livestock and the trucks on the highway. He also found pleasure visiting with his kids and grandkids and family get togethers.
