Deborah Louise Marone, 63, of Riverton, Wyoming, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at her home in Riverton. As were her wishes, no services will be held.
She was born on June 25, 1961, in Lander, Wyoming, to Cleo “Monte” Montana Combs and Mary Yvonne (LeClair) Combs. She was the granddaughter of Esther and Edmo “Bud” LeClair.
A proud and registered member of the Eastern Shoshone Tribe, Deborah deeply embraced her heritage. She passed on the traditions of her culture to her daughter, Danette, through traditional dance and attending pow-wows.
She grew up alongside her full brother, William Phillip Combs. After her parents divorced, her mother married Curtis “Scotty” Allen. Deborah had four half-siblings: Nancy Lee Reed, Kenneth Arthur Reed, Val Jamie Hawthorne, and Jerry Mickel Combs.
Deborah was the loving mother of two daughters: Danette L. Conover and her husband, Jesse D. Conover, with their children, Ellie Hawk and Sophia Fried; and Shawna L. Marone and her children, Breeona L. Lechuga and Luis Lechuga. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment with them.
At the age of 60, Deborah earned two Associate of Applied Science degrees from Central Wyoming College, a testament to her unwavering determination and strong-willed persistence.
An avid animal lover, Deborah always surrounded herself with pets, including dogs, cats, and birds. She once lived on a ranch where she raised sheep, goats, and horses, and she enjoyed competing in rodeos with her daughter, Danette. She was actively involved in 4-H and passed on her love of animals to the next generation. Even after her ranch life, she continued to care for neighborhood birds and squirrels, spending hours watching them play in her backyard.
Known for her meticulous nature, Deborah took great pride in maintaining her yard, always raking leaves as soon as the weather allowed and grabbing her snow shovel the moment the flakes began to slow.
Blunt and to the point, Deborah rarely held back her opinions. She was genuinely curious about the happenings in her neighborhood and took a keen interest in the well-being of her grandchildren.
Deborah will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing such a strong, determined, and compassionate woman.
