Betty Jean Lynn, 91, of Riverton, Wyoming, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Help for Health Hospice Home.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Davis Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband, James.

Betty was born on March 16, 1934, in Lovell, Wyoming, to John O. Barnes and Lovella E. (Vail) Barnes. On March 14, 1951, she married James E. Lynn in Minot, North Dakota.

When her two oldest were little she worked at Eva’s Café as cook, dishwasher, and everything else that was needed.

A devoted homemaker, Betty took great pride in caring for her family. She had a deep love for animals, especially her dogs and horses. She enjoyed walking her puppies, horseback riding, sewing, baking, gardening, and canning all the garden vegetables.

Later in her life she was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints.

She is survived by her children, Dean (Marilyn) Lynn, Sandra Lynn, and Debra Lynn; as well as her seventeen grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren, eleven great great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her son Jimmy E. Lynn in July 1973 and her husband, James E. Lynn, in 2008; her granddaughter Shawna Winstead in 2010; her parents, John and Lovella Barnes; her son, Jimmy E. Lynn, July 1973; her granddaughter, Shawna Winstead, December 2010; her brothers, Lewis, Ed and William; and her sisters, Velma, Mary, Laura, Ethyl, Ellen, Addie, and Opal.
