March 12, 1974 – April 4, 2025

Medrick Herman Moss, Jr., lovingly known as "Mouser," passed away on Friday April 4, 2025 in Riverton, at the age of 51. He was born on March 12, 1974, in Riverton, Wyoming, to the late Medrick Herman Moss, Sr. and Wilma Rose C’Hair Moss.

Mouser was a proud enrolled member of the Northern Arapaho Tribe and was baptized in the Catholic Church. He spent several years of his youth in the St. Paul/Minneapolis area, where he attended junior high and later graduated from St. Stephens High School. A talented athlete, he played basketball and ran cross country during his high school years.

A few years after graduating, Medrick joined the United States Army and served honorably for two years, stationed at Ft. Hood, Texas. Following his service, he pursued various occupations including working as a truck driver for CR England, a fisherman in Alaska, an iron worker, and a hand in the oilfields with SanJel. He also worked at Wind River Casino.

On November 27, 2017, he married the, Jaeshawn Friday. Together, they built a life in Anchorage, Alaska, raising their children and cherishing time spent with their growing family.

Mouser had a passion for life and enjoyed playing in men’s league basketball and volleyball, camping, fishing, and playing cards with his family. More than anything, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren—his greatest pride and legacy.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Jaeshawn Friday; children: Dylan Moss, Riley Moss, Javion Moss, Illyonna Moss, and Brandi Moss; grandchildren: Kaiden Moss and Donald Makeshine, Jr., Jaymes and Jayson Moss, and John Montoya, Jr.; and siblings, Ronald White and family,  Bryson Whitewolf and family, Jolene (Julian) Hubbard and family, Amelia (Tim) Stepetin and family, Marilyn C’Hair (Cassey Tindall) and family, Madonna Oldman and family, Sophie C’Hair and family, Makayla (Greg) Oldman and family, DeeAnn Wanstall and family, Dawn Teller and family, Claude Duran, Jr., Lamar Duran, Sr., James (Loni) Ybarra, Jr., Norman (Jori) Ybarra and family, Jon C’Hair, Christopher C’Hair and family, Windy C’Hair, Mark C’Hair, and Big Al C’Hair and family; aunts, Rochelle C’Hair and twins, Sadie (Duane) Bell and family, Matilda C’Hair and family, Rose Marie C’Hair, Mary Ann Duran and family, Julie Mae Whiteman and family, Susanna Oldman and family, Rosella Moss and family, Ursula Aragon and family, and Maxine Moss and family; uncles, Mitchell (Vicki) C’Hair and family, Jude C’Hair, Claude Duran, Sr. and granddaughter, Leonard R. He was preceded in death by his parents, Medrick Sr. and Wilma “Rose” Moss; his brother, Mitchell Patrick Moss and Howie Addison; his sister, Johnna Moss; grandparents, John Iceman C’Hair, Sr. and Amelia “Nina” C’Hair; aunts, Alberta “Bird” Duran, Mary F. Duran, Vera C’Hair, Victoria Friday, Tekawitha SunRhodes, Eileen C’Bearing, and Delores Aragon; uncles, Gary C’Hair, John C’Hair, Jr., PFC Weldon Dale Moss, Kendell Moss, Sr., Herman (JoJo) Moss, Jr., and Chester Moss; nephew, Bradley Moss; cousins, Neil C’Hair, Mitchell J. C’Hair, Jr., Shado Duran, and Dakota Duran; ex wife, Kenzee C’Bearing; and god parents, Sarah and Lyle Black..

A Vigil Service with a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, with a wake to follow at the Marilyn C’Hair Residence, 32 C’Hair Lane in Arapahoe. Funeral services will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 11, 2025, at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Arapaho Catholic Cemetery.

Mouser will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
