Nadine Sides of Riverton died at the Wind River Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Riverton on Monday, Aug. 23, 2010. She was 92.
At her request, cremation has taken place and there will be no memorial services.
Florence Nadine Wichman was born in Doe Run, St. Francis County, Mo., on March 6, 1918, the daughter of August Wichman and Elizabeth (Kassabaum) Wichman. She was graduated from Doe Run High School.
On July 14, 1937, she married Ellis D. Sides.
During World War II, Mrs. Sides worked as a "Rosie the Riveter" on military bombers in Wichita, Kan.
The family moved to Riverton from Farmington, Mo., in 1957. The couple owned and operated the K&E Office Supply and the Arapahoe Grocery Store.
Mr. and Mrs. Sides moved to Phoenix, Ariz., in 1964, then returned to Riverton in 2005 to be closer to family.
Her family described Mrs. Sides as an avid sports fan, interested in watching the Dallas Cowboys, Phoenix Suns, and Arizona Diamondbacks. They said she enjoyed traveling, particularly road trips, and enjoyed visiting with friends and neighbors.
Mrs. Sides was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include her twin daughters, DeAnna Webber and husband Kenneth of Riverton, and LeAnn Bradbury and husband Brad of Albuquerque, N.M.; grandchildren, Michelle Dolbow and husband Vince of Pavillion, Todd Webber and wife Debra of Dillon, Colo., Darin DeForest and wife Abel of Phoenix, Ariz., Dana DeForest of Albuquerque, N.M., and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Ellis; a sister, Blanche, and brothers, Orville and Curtis.
