Edith M. Schenck of Riverton died on Friday, Oct. 22, 2010, at Wind River Healthcare in Riverton. She was 96.
Services are at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 29, at West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Grand Island, Neb. Her family will officiate.
Edith M. Jameson was born in Elkhart, Ind., on April 6, 1914, the daughter of Ray and Vinnie (Patterson) Jameson. She was graduated from high school in Detroit, Mich., in 1933.
She was a homemaker, having married Floyd Schenck on Nov. 30, 1936, in Clay Center, Neb.
The family lived in Grand Island, Neb., for 35 years, with Mrs. Schenck moving to Riverton in March of 1990.
She worked in the kitchen of the Veterans' Administration Hospital in Grand Island for 16 years.
Mrs. Schenck volunteered as a foster grandmother for 16 years.
Her family said she enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and ceramics.
She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and had served as Past Noble Grand and Chaplain in Riverton.
Survivors include sons, Steve F. Schenck and his wife Linda of Yuma, Ariz., and Charles E. Schenck of Riverton; a sister, Maxine Smith of Garfield, Ark., and daughter-in-law, Joyce Schenck of Grand Island, Neb..
