Jeanette “Jan” Louise Tucker

 

Jan Tucker was called home by her Lord Jesus on Friday, April 11, 2025. She was 89 years old. A visitation of family and friends will be 5:00 – 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Davis Funeral Home in Riverton.  Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 24, 2025, at Trinity Lutheran Church of Riverton. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Riverton.

 

Jeanette Louise Gasser was born September 19, 1935, in Riverton Wyoming, the daughter of Eugene and Clara (Vock) Gasser. She graduated from Riverton High School with the class of 1953.

 

She married Luther F. Tucker on February 25, 1956, in Raton, New Mexico. They had two children, Randy was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana and Susan was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico.

 

Jan was baptized at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in 1938. She was a lifelong Lutheran. She served as Sunday school teacher, Bible School teacher, and LYFC sponsor in Blytheville, Arkansas. She also was a choir member with the Lutheran choir in Rancho Cordova, California, Mt. Hope Lutheran Church in Kinnear, Wyoming and Trinity Lutheran Church in Riverton, Wyoming. She served as bookkeeper for Mt. Hope Lutheran Church and for ten years at Trinity Lutheran Church Riverton where she also taught Sunday School, Weeknight school, and Vacation Bible School.

 

Mrs. Tucker volunteered as an aide for the Upper Solano County Special Needs Children’s Association in Fairfield, California, as a Red Cross physician’s assistant in Blytheville, Arkansas. She worked for General Electric Company in Denver, Colorado, for Richard’s Enterprises in Sacramento, California and as a Business Manager for School District #6 Pavilion, Wyoming. She was acting superintendent of Wind River Schools in 1973 and was elected to the Wind River Board of Trustees in 1988.

 

Survivors include her children, Randy Tucker and his wife Sue of Riverton, and Susan Conilogue of Riverton; grandchildren, Amron Stevens and her husband Sean of Texas, Adam Conilogue and his wife Dana of Iowa, Jacob Conilogue and his wife Colleen of Lander, Brian Tucker and his wife Katelin of Riverton, Staci Orbell and her husband Adam of Pennsylvania; her beloved great grandchildren, Tucker, Eliana, and Brennen Stevens, Coen, Vivianne, and Jonah Conilogue, Kinsey and Bridger Conilogue, Morgan and Matthew Tucker, Jayne and Norah Orbell; sister, Nellie Crider and her husband Jerry.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband Luther F. Tucker, her parents, Eugene and Clara Gasser; sister Ruth Pallas, brothers Eugene Gasser and Ralph Gasser, son-in-law, Matt Conilogue; nephews Timmy Gasser and Mike Gasser, niece Charlotte Eastman, parents-in-law, Forrest and Sally Tucker.

 

Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran School of Riverton or the Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch in care of Davis Funeral Home, 2203 W. Main Street, Riverton, Wyoming 82501
