Juanita M. Wuertley went to be with Jesus on January 10, 2011 at the age of 91. She was a resident at Westward Heights Care Center in Lander , Wyoming at the time of her death.
A Viewing will be Thursday evening, January 13, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday, January 14, 2011, 3:00 p.m. at the Davis Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
Juanita was born in Summersville, Missouri on November 29, 1919 to William Edd and Emma (Powell) Richardson. She attended school in Summersville and was employed as a seamstress in St. Louis, Missouri. She married Robert F. Wuertley on February 7th, 1948 in West Plains, Missouri. She and Robert moved to Lodge Grass, Montana where Robert was employed as a ranch hand. When Robert went to work for Standard Oil (Amoco) , they moved to Midwest, Wyoming where he worked at the electric plant. From there they moved to Kimball, Nebraska, then Brush, Colorado and then to Riverton in 1966.
Juanita was employed by Lee Cleaners in Riverton for several years. She was an accomplished seamstress. Through her work at the cleaners she became acquainted with many Riverton residents.
Juanita loved to bake and she enjoyed crocheting and embroidering. When she was younger, she was an avid bowler. She and Robert enjoyed traveling to different areas of the country with their 5th wheel camper.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, who passed away in December of 2008, her parents, and two brothers and five sisters . Survivors include a daughter, Linda (Bob) Bennett of Dayton, NV; two sons, Robert (Adene) Wuertley, Bairoil, WY and Ron (Renee) Wuertley of Boulder, MT, four grandsons, Brandon (Tierney) Bennett, Reno, NV; Brent (Jennifer) Bennett, Buffalo, WY; Jay Wuertley, Rawlins, WY and Adam (Tammy) Wuertley, Bar Nunn, WY, and one great grandson, Tanner Bennett, as well as a sister Jean Aills of Fern Park, Florida, and two sisters in-law, Elsa Richardson and Ruth Wuertley, both of Summersville, as well as many nieces and nephews.
