Funeral services for Brandy "Brandy Bee" SunRhodes of Lander are at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 26, at St. Stephen's Catholic Church. Interment will be at the Arapaho Catholic Cemetery at St. Stephen's. There will be a feast and give away and Great Plains Hall at Arapahoe on Saturday. A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 25, at the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton with a wake following at 1170 17 Mile Road. A family viewing will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 24th at Davis Funeral Home.
Miss SunRhodes died at the Lander Regional Hospital on Sunday, March 20. She was 19.
Brandy Lynn SunRhodes was born in Lander on Dec. 13, 1991, to Baudelio C. Gutierrez III and Teresa SunRhodes and for 17 years she made her home with Marvin and Margaret Henley.
Miss SunRhodes was a student at Lander Valley High School. She had attended South Elementary School in Lander at Starrett Junior High there.
Her family said she enjoyed the Special Olympics, music, especially hymns, walks with family and friends, and cookies.
Miss SunRhodes is survived by her special (guardian) parents, Margaret and Marvin Henley; her sister, Juanita Gutierrez; special sisters, Rebecca, Lisa and Vanessa; special grandmother, Myrtle Hamilton; many special aunts and uncles, including Kelly, Robin, Bill and Renae; many special cousins, including Lori, Cori, Danielle, Jovonna and Tristan; caregivers, including Mrs. Rita and Jimbo, Candice and family, Anne and Tanya.
She was preceded in death by her special grandfather, Roy Hamilton and many special aunts and uncles.
Her biological survivors include her mother, Teresa SunRhodes; sisters, Janell SunRhodes, Juanita, Roalina and Branelle Gutierrez; twin brother, Brandon SunRhodes, and brother White Cloud SunRhodes; God parents, Jerome SunRhodes Sr. and Eloise Yellowbear; great grandmother, Mary Bear; paternal grandmother, Rachael Brown; grandparents, Ernest SunRhodes Jr. and Leticia; nieces, Rain Cloud SunRhodes and Katisha Shakespeare; numerous grandparents, uncles, aunts, and extended family.
