Ella Mae Younge of Dubois, Wyoming died on Easter Sunday, April 24, 2011. She was 73.
Ella Mae Scott was born in Brown City, Mich., on April 27, 1937, the daughter of Millard Scott and Vera (Evans) Scott. She lived much of her life in Michigan, graduating as Valedictorian of her class in 1955 from Brown City High School.
On November 10, 1956, she married Thomas O. Younge in Brown City, Michigan. The couple moved to Dubois, Wyoming in the late 1980s to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Tom and Ella Mae celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in 2006 with their family and friends in Dubois.
For most of her life, Ella Mae was a school bus driver in Brown City. She also had a cleaning service in Dubois.
Ella Mae deeply loved her family and grandchildren and especially enjoyed having her family together. She loved attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and other school activities. She enjoyed family outings in the mountains, traveling with her children, and was passionate about animals, especially her dogs and cats. Ella Mae was a Christian and was raised in the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas O. Younge of Dubois; a son, Tom Younge of Dubois; daughters, Candis Whitlock-Bennett and husband Jody of Dubois, and Lori Ebersberger and her husband Rick of Powell; grandchildren, Tanner Whitlock of Dubois, Lacy Mae Ebersberger, and Jenni Lee Ebersberger of Powell; step-grandchildren, Ashley Bennett and Austin Bennett of Lander, Wyo.; sisters Janet Benedict and husband Dick of Sandusky, Mich., and Norma Jean Ware of Lum, Mich.; two brothers-in-law, one sister-in-law, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers-in-law, Herb Ware and Tom Benedict.
Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service is planned for Saturday, May 7, 2011 at the Fellowship Bible Church in Brown City at 11:00 a.m. A Celebration of the Lives and Special Friendship of Ella Mae Younge and Shelby Wilcox (who passed away Jan. 30, 2011) will be held at the Flynn Township Hall following the Memorial Service.
A Memorial Service for Ella Mae will be held in Dubois, Wyoming at a later date.
