Funeral services for Linda E. Lally of Dubois are at Noon on Wednesday, May 25, at Our Lady of the Woods Catholic Church in Dubois.
Inurnment will be buried at the Dubois Cemetery immediately following the church services. There will be a reception in Dubois, the time and place are still to be determined.
Mrs. Lally died at her home in Dubois on Monday, May 16, 2011, at the age of 62.
Linda Ellen Daw was born in Fort Scott, Kan., on Aug. 4, 1948, the daughter of Harry and Theta Daw. She was graduated from Fort Scott (Kan.) High School in 1966, winning the business award from her school.
She married Patrick Lally in Nogales, Ariz., in January of 1996.
She had lived in Dubois since 1985, after having made her home in Tulsa, Okla., Joplin, Mo., and Fort Scott, Kan.
She was of the Catholic faith.
Mrs. Lally was a retired insurance agent having worked in the home, auto, and life insurance business. She was a professionally-trained secretary, skilled in all aspects of office and clerical duties. She worked as an insurance agent in Dubois for 15 years before retiring to be with her husband Pat Lally.
Her family said Mrs. Lally lived her life for her children and grandchildren, putting their welfare ahead of her own. They described her as an avid reader whose favorite author was Stephen King. They said she was also a skilled cook who taught her grandchildren, and that she enjoyed gardening, especially flowers. As a senior in high school, she won a sewing machine in a contest and made clothes for her children as they were growing up, and sewed hundreds of outfits for her granddaughters' Barbie doll collection adjusting patterns to Barbie doll size. The family said she loved to spend time with her granddaughters, playing games, reading stories, and making them laugh.
Survivors include her husband, Patrick Lally of Dubois; a son, David C. Garren; daughter, Jennifer J. Hunley; son-in-law, Robert R. Hunley; granddaughters, Sierra and Savannah Hunley; a sister, Lylise Evans of Fort Scott, Kan.; brother-in-law, James Evans; nephews, Jeremy Woods.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Theta Daw of Fort Scott, Kan., her sister, Marylou Jadlot of Nevada Missouri, and her sister, Janice Young of Tulsa Okla.
