When I was growing up, I looked up to my cousin Roanne. She and Shirley were my role models: They were both smart and beautiful.
Later, when Roanne and I visited at a family reunion, I enjoyed so much her sense of humor. I met her lovely daughter Vickie there and watched how much Roanne loved her grandkids.
When my Dad, John Linde, passed away, Roanne came to my parent's home in Keystone to attend the funeral. She told me “it does get better”, which I thought wasn’t possible. She spoke of the family connections we all shared.
Over the years, Roanne stayed in touch with my Mom, Bernice Linde by writing or calling. It was a joy to read her letters, which were always punctuated by her humor and love for her family.
Roanne and her beautiful daughter Lori came to visit Mom after she had serious back surgery. Roanne and Lori played crib with me and Mom until we had to schedule a rematch to determine who were the true “cribbage queens”.
Roanne’s last visit here was in July 2011. We are so happy that we got the opportunity to see her again. We will miss her smiling face and her voice on the other end of the phone making us laugh.
We love you Roanne!
Bernice, Judy and family, Tim and Family, Terry and family.
My memories of Roanne are all pleasant ones. She is already greatly missed by her friends at the United Presbyterian Church. As her friend, June Goff, so aptly put it "We've lost a great one."
Lori Weber - 9/26/2011Lori, you and your family are in our hearts and prayers. All our love and sympathy. Brenda, Terry and Ryo
Brenda Kahl - 9/27/2011We were so sad to hear of Roanne's passing. She was a member of the Broker family for a long time. When I would run into her,it was so much fun to catch up with each other and visit. Our prayers and thoughts are with you all.
