Barbara Hayes, Class of 1969, Shiprock, NM - 11/3/2011I remember him as a great teacher.
Billie Betts Jacoby - 11/3/2011You are in my thoughts and prayers. I have many fond memories of my high school science classes and Mr. Stagg. He was a great teacher with a great sense of humor. May you cherish your memories.
I am Uncle Johnny's oldest great neice and proud of it! In remembering my beloved Uncle, it's important to know that he was a pioneer for our family which is why, I believe, so many of us admired him. His obituary was a great depiction of his life and of his generation. He served our country proudly then worked one of the toughest, masculine jobs in - the foundation of our country's industrial success - the steel mills. He could have chosen to stay in the mill receiving high pay and tenure, but he opted for something even greater, yet more humbling- the freedom and beauty of the "wild west"! When he moved "out west", he embraced it with every part of his existence. He became part of IT'S existence by learning and studying all he could about it. I admired him for his craving for knowledge and continued education. Uncle Johnny was a no-nonsense guy. He didn't show a lot of affection, but he didn't need to because he showed his love by sharing his knowledge and sharing his love of Wyoming. He was a simple man, requiring simple belongings and simple surroundings - again something to be admired and refreshing to be in his presence. I miss my Uncle Johnny, and am thankful for the time he gave to me and my family. Thank you for opening the door to the West for all of us to enjoy and give to it it's proper respect. I am a better person because of him.
All my love to Aunt Eleanor, Trish, my beloved Uncle Paul, Carol Ann and all my extended family during this difficult time and always!
Thank you Mr. Stagg for jolting my interest in Science. Because of you I became a Science teacher, and taught for many years in Southern California.
Can't say that dissecting that frog was a favorite part of the curriculum, but we got through it okay. Thank you again!

Remembering Mr. Stagg, I recall a kind and gentle man. He made sophomore biology fun, and he was a man with a good temperament. May he rest in peace.
