Your dad was a special friend to many; he shared his positive attitude, humor and love of wife and family as well as his love of life. He had high expections of himself and those around him; CAN'T wasn't in his vocabulary. As characteristic of most men of his generation, he wasn't afraid of work and took providing for his family seriously. He did whatever was necessary toward that end; even when others might have given up or given in. He walked tall, even with canes...
I had the previledge of being a classmate when Jack was making a major life and career shift at UW. He joked at his non-traditional student status and demonstrated to many that opportunity was always out there--you just had to reach for it. Quite a legacy for his children, grandchildren and those who had the honor of knowing him. He will be missed...
