Millsap, Violet
An amazing person that will never be forgotten. I'll miss her love taps when changing her. The amazing chocolats that her daughter would bring in.
Cindy Sherman - 10/21/2013Violet was such a sweet person. I remember her first day at the nursing home! I have a picture of her holding my 6 week old baby 13 years ago. Violet was an amazing person and persevered through many challenges in her life and still took the time to stop and laugh!
She will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her.
My condolences to you and your family. Our prayers and thoughts are with you!
Grandma,
You lead a beautiful life. Thank you for all your love and your great spirit. You'll always be in my heart.
Love you grandma
Steve Girmus - 10/23/2013Violet and my mom were in the Do and Enjoy Extension Club many decades ago. Recall going to her home as a small child and found her warm and welcoming to my sister and me.
In later years, Mom found herself at the nursing home for rehab following surgery. Her first visitor was Violet who wasted no time coming to see her and let her know she was not alone--among friends.
Their paths again crossed roughly a year ago. Communication was difficult but their smiles and touching of hands spoke volumes. I would check in on Violet on occassion and found her always "up"--she chose to make the best of her situation. An inspiration to those around her.
At one of the earlier Farmer's Markets this fall, the nursing home brought a van of residents downtown to enjoy the festivities. There was Violet in her wheelchair, smiling, displaying a huge cookie she'd gotten. A nice memory of a grand woman...enjoying life on her terms!
