Secrist, Joseph A.
Joe was a wonderful man, I'm so glad I got to connect with him again after so many years! Joe and Avis took care of my brother and I when we were little while our dad was working and I have nothing but fond memories of staying there and playing with Matt. Prayers and hugs to Jan.
Angie Hensley - 1/28/2014Dear Jan,
So sorry to read of Joe's passing today in the paper. When I last saw you both at WalMart, he seemed so hopeful about his treatments and I really hoped that would work out better for him. But we just don't know the bigger plan.
I certainly enjoyed knowing Joe for the brief time I spent in both your lives. He had a wonderful laugh and was so goodhearted. I know you will miss him terribly but I hope you will find comfort in knowing he is at peace now and suffering no more. I am also quite certain he will always be near you in spirit and that your good times together will warm your heart for years to come.
Sending my deepest condolences to you and your family.

Fond memories of our friend will linger for many years to come. We know he's in a wonderful place and we know that we will see him again, but are selfish natures tell us that we will miss him greatly in this life. He inspired us to become better Christians and to live more God like. We are so sorry that we were afraid of the roads and didn't make it to the funeral
Frank & Lillie - 1/30/2014Dear Jan,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. The following phrase has helped me get through....."How lucky I am to have known someone who was so hard to say good-bye to." I hope it gives some comfort to you...if not now....as time heals. Thinking of you..

Dear Jan,
We were so sorry to learn about the passing of Joe. He was truly a kind, wonderful person. His love for others (and especially for children with special needs was always so apparent.) We enjoyed meeting you and Joe and Matt on the Special Olympics team and the support you always brought to the practices and games. Jordan was always happy to see him at Wal-Mart and was so saddened when Joe told him about his lung cancer. Please know that you continue to be in our thoughts and prayers at this very difficult time.
Dear Jan, Sean and Monica,
It is with sadness that I write this he and I were so close as children. He was my brother and a friend and will miss him greatly. Please know that I am thinking of you at this time and you have always been in my thoughts. He is at peace now and with Mom Dad and the rest of his loved ones.
Love to you all.
