I will always have fond memories of Nort and the entire Axthelm family. The hundreds or thousands of hours spent at the Axthelm home were good times. Nort was always good for a ride to practice as long as there wasn't time to get there on your bike. If there was, then it was "get on those bikes and get going". I'll never forget that "late" model car that Nort drove. Not another one like it in town. I'll also never forget Nort smoking a cigarette and drinking beer. We knew it was beer because it said right on the can in black letters BEER. A wonderful person has moved on, and a piece of my younger years is gone. Rest In Peace Nort. I'll never forget you.
Brett Berg - 6/7/2014My deepest sympathy. We were neighbors for many years while we lived in Riverton, went to school with Sheila. My God bless you all.
Susan Hawk Farley - 6/10/2014"Nort",or rather, Mr. Axthelm to me will always be a source inspiration and kindness.
When I was about 13 years old and hoping to make the Little League All Star team, but did not, he encouraged me not give up (which I wanted to do)and that I was a good player in spite of not making the team. I will always be grateful for his kind words. I know he will be missed, rest in peace.
