Booram, Malcolm
This week we have all had a tear in our eyes. Malcolm was such a joy as a foster grandparent at Ashgrove Elementary School where I am the principal. Malcolm reached out to many children, and loved hearing them read and sharing stories with them. He was always cheerful and the teachers with whom he worked loved having him in their classroom. He was thoughtful and kind, and was such a wonderful person to have in our school. When it was bitter cold, I would stop on my way to work and pick up Malcolm as he liked to walk no matter what the weather. He always had a story to tell and loved to call us all "sweetie." He was the sweetie and will missed by all. On a personal note, my daughter was very interested in all his flowers, and he loved showing them to us and telling us about all of them. His yard was admired by all at the four way stop for many, many, many years. Malcolm was a giving person, and we all so appreciated the gift he was to us. We also loved the pie that Olive would make for us, and Malcolm would bring in. I know he will be missed by all.
Alleta Baltes - 11/20/2014It was my honor to have known Malcolm. For four years, Grandpa Malcolm was a foster grandparent in my second grade classroom at Ashgrove Elementary. He was so patient, kind, and loving to all of the students and I know he has left a positive impression on each one of them. We took many class walks to visit and observe his beautiful yard. The students especially loved listening to him play is harmonica, sing songs, and even yodel. He was always happy to do anything asked of him and he made the days I worked with him so enjoyable. Through many conversations he taught me about politics, photography, gardening, fishing, and much more. I have missed him since I moved from RIverton; however, I'm thankful for all of the wonderful memories.
Kimberly Hansen - 11/20/2014Olive, I was so sorry to hear of your brothers passing. You and your mom and brother are some of the wonderful people I remember from the Riverton Church of the Nazarene when I lived in Riverton.
Blanche (Burbridge) Flanagan - 11/22/2014We were sad to hear of Malcolm's passing. He was a wonderful cousin and friend. I will always remember spending Christmas 1963 at the Booram's home. Malcolm was a kind and gentile man who loved sharing his fishing and photography. We will miss him.
