Deb I know how hard this is for you and all of your family and I just want you to know that you are all in my prayers. Let the mass of Christian burial give you all peace and comfort as it sounds like your mom had a great deal of faith in her church. The burial mass symbolizes God taking her home to her eternal life in heaven, the place where we all desire to go.
