Rosanne Riley - 1/14/2015Gretchen, David and Bill,
I cannot think of a time in my life when I didn't know your mother and father. The images that cross my mind include a multitude of picnics, sports events, church gatherings at St. James, 4-H, Job's Daughters and family get togethers at each of our homes.
I will be thinking of you and including you in my Episcopal prayers!
Much love,
Connie Hirz Herrick
I was so sorry to hear of the death of your mother. It is so hard to lose a parent. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
Judy Hubbard - 1/14/2015I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to know Darlene. She taught my father and I so enjoyed listening to her stories about him as a young child. I am sure she will be missed by many. You were so blessed to have had her as part of your family. Cindy Bessey Conger
Cindy Bessey Conger - 1/14/2015Mrs. Fraham was my 2nd grade teacher in 1974. Being a 2nd grade teacher myself today, I can appreciate more and thank Mrs. Fraham for her patience and hard work in educating us. May she rest in peace. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Becky (Brohl) Rost - 1/14/2015Dear Gretchen, David and Bill.
We express our deepest sympathy to all of you. I worked with your Mom for eleven wonderful years at Jackson school. She was a wonderful person and will be missed by all who knew her. We talked on the telephone up until the time she left Riverton. I lost a very dear friend -
Thank you Bill for letting me know about your Mom's passing. All of you are in our thoughts and prayers.
Love and prayers,
Mrs. Frahm is one of my favorite teachers of all time. She never let us get away with anything, was very strict, and unconditionally loving. As we all grew older, she would stop along the walkways of Riverton to visit with all of her students from by gone days. She was always so loving and kind, and as I mentioned before, didn't allow us to misbehave, but she did it with our best interest at heart and made us aware of how important we were to each other, as well as to her. I remember standing in a 12X12 square, bending to touch my toes, as she was going to spank me. (I promise it was well deserved!) After school that day she asked me to stay a moment and made sure that I knew what I had done, and why it was important. To this day I know that I should have been hauled down to the principal's office where Mr. Durr had the Paddle for children who didn't mind, but Mrs. Frahm kept me from making rotten choices, even years later. In the Riverton Public Museum there are photos of each of her students that she donated years ago. She kept them all those years. And none of us were left out of them. She donated them 30 years after I left her class.
To her family, I want you to know that she made a tremendous impact on my life. I learned to respect others, to study hard, and a love of reading, because of the woman you knew as mother, grandmother, Aunt, or friend. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. May God Bless you as you celebrate her life. I
To Darlene's Large Extended Family,
Darlene was my favorite teacher and most remembered from the years at Riverton High.
She started me down the road to a career in Chemistry.
I had several opportunities to see at our class of 1954 reunions and it was always a JOY to talk with her again.
May you be comforted by the knowledge of her FAITH and history of service to many, many students, friends, and all of those who she kept in her heart!!
She was a GREAT LADY.
I wanted you to know how much I enjoyed getting to know your Mother when she was at Homested with my Mother. We had many good visits ! My Mother and your Mother had many good times together! They ate together at the same table and I would often find them outside in the summer time ---just having a good visit and many good laughs!! They had known each other since the early years when my Dad and your Dad were school teachers together.
Just wanted you to know how much I appreciate the friendship they had together. It meant so much to me and to Mom!

Thoughts and prayers to you all. She was my 2nd grade teacher 38 years ago. I still remember the little saying she taught us to remember how many days were in a month. She remembered us even as we grew older and from time to time she'd send us a card. Glad to have known her.
