Glenn Laidlaw

Laidlaw, Glenn

Ronald Walker - 2/24/2015

I worked with Glenn as a Technician from 2004 to 2008 in the Riverton USGS office. My condolences to the family as they transition through this difficult time, may he rest in peace.

Ty Blacklock - 2/24/2015

Condolences to the family of Glenn Laidlaw. I worked with Glenn in the Riverton Office between 1990 and 2000, and we enjoyed many hunting and fishing trips together. Glenn was always eager to share his vast knowledge of minerals and his passion for collecting them. He will be missed by many, but there is comfort knowing that he is with our Heavenly Father, and we can look forward to the day when we all can be reunited at our Lord's table.

Ken Hedmark - 2/24/2015

To Kathy and Family, I'm so sorry for your loss, I know how hard it is. This time on earth is short, Glenn was loved by all of us that came in contact with him whether it be through Church, Work, Friendship or being a Family member as I was privileged to be. What a great Brother-in-law, he was and still is. Now he has returned to Our Father in Heaven at His timing not ours and has joined many loved ones. I can hear my Husband Mike saying to Glenn "what the heck are you doing here"! We've lost another one of our family, but we know that Families are Eternal and we will see him again.
I Love you Laidlaw family. Just think of him as being in another room, that will help ease your pain. Love - Aunt Julie

Julie Tolman - Sister in Law - 2/24/2015

Dearest Melissa, Seth and family,
I am so very sorry for your Loss! our prayers and love go out to you all. I pray that God will bring peace and comfort to you.

With much love and sympathy,

Barbara Poggis - 2/24/2015

I had the pleasure of working with Glenn from 1998-2008. Even though I was in Cheyenne, my job brought me through Riverton regularly and after Glenn took over the office there I had even more regular visits with him. I always enjoyed my interactions with him, and was impressed by his strength of character and ethics. Although I never had much personal interaction with you who are left behind, I want you to know my thoughts are with you in this difficult time. Glenn spoke of you often, and it was clear you were a great source of joy to him. Glenn was always very kind to me and I carry with me a fossil he gave me as a going away present. It will now help me remember this decent and generous man that I was lucky to know.

Myron Brooks - 2/24/2015

I'm so very sorry to hear that Glenn has passed away. Glenn was a great co-worker, and he always had a kind word to say. He was a good man and very well liked at USGS. Please accept my condolences for your loss.

Farewell to my friend and cousin Glenn. Thanks for all the wonderful memories of fishing, hunting, and your gift of telling a fun story.

Dearest Kathy & family, you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Larry Laidlaw - 2/24/2015

you will be missed by all your friends. You have touched so many lives and inspired and amazed us with your knowledge of our environment and things we all take for granted. On one of our field trips with the rock club I asked you what you have found, and you said you have not been looking, you get pleasure and joy seeing what other people have found. And that's what sets you apart from so many, seeing the joy in other people. I will always remember that about you. I am so lucky to have known you and counted you as a friend.

Glenn worked with me at the USGS during my tour there 1999-2004. I can honestly say that he made my job easier and I caiUld always count on him for a joke, a smile, and a "can do" attitude. I know that his first priorities were his faith and his family and my wish is that you are drawn closer together in the memories of the joy he brought you. I will miss him.

Robert Swanson - 2/25/2015

Kathy,
We were saddened at the passing of Glen. Our family has a lot of memories of Glen as a good friend and a lot of good times in scouts. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Please accept our most, humble condolences. Melissa, I didn't really know Glenn very well, but judging by how well you turned out it isn't too difficult to figure out that he was a great patriarch to a most wonderful family. Plus, I know he loved to hunt and was good at it, which ranks him very highly in my book. We are right next door, if you ever need anything at all, please do not hesitate to ask. We love you and Seth and Sammy and Hazel, (haven't met the dog yet), and are always here for you. Thanks for being such a good neighbor and may God bless you all.

Scott & Connie Gantenbein - 2/26/2015

I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Glenn for several years ( I was stationed out of the Casper and Cheyenne Field Offices) and I have many fun and good memories of working with Glenn when I was a rookie!

Glenn, a fine man, is now with Heavenly Father. He will be in our prayers tonight.

So sorry for your loss. I didn't know Glen well but became acquainted over jade and we had several really nice visits. He had a knowledge of minerals and gems and was always eager to answer any questions. God speed

Kathy McCoy - 2/27/2015

Kathy and family, Karen and I extend our deepest sympathy to you on the death of your husband Glenn. We know you derive great solace from your strong faith, but that does not make the loss any less. He was too young to pass on, with too many grandkids to teach and mentor. May he rest in peace.

I did not know Glenn well, but he was my "across the aisle" neighbor at the Gem and Mineral show in Casper. He was truly a delight to talk with each year, as well as selling me a beautiful slice of petrified wood last summer. I saw him at Quartzsite last month. I was tired, my sciatic nerve was killing me, and I was three booths from the last corner of the show, deciding to quit shopping. Then, I changed my mind and went on down the aisle. Glenn was in the last booth. Finding that I was hurting, that kind gentleman immediately gave me his chair and borrowed one from the next booth. We had a pleasant chat, talking rocks and Wyoming and allowing my back and leg to relax. After a few minutes, I left, with us planning to see each other this summer in Wyoming, and with me no longer hurting. He was so kind and knowledgeable, and will be truly missed in the rock community. Please accept my sincerest sympathies for your loss.

Ruth James, Casper, WY - 2/28/2015

Dear Mrs. Laidlaw and family,

I'm sorry to hear of Glenn's passing. I was out of the U.S. at the time and my sister was able to attend his service. He truly was the "Diamond" in the Riverton Mineral & Gem society's club. I was very appreciative of his knowledge and his willingness to help all of us understand what kind of gem or mineral we had. The rock club will never be the same.
