I have no idea what to say, but I wanted you to know we are praying for you and your family. When a child is taken home so soon, it is so heartbreaking. I hope you can find some comfort in Psalm 23, in knowing that he will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. He will never have to fear or hurt again. "The righteous perish, and no one ponders it in his heart, devout men are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil. Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; they find rest as they lie in death."

Our children are God's children that he has put in our care for however long. God knows our timing even before we are born. We don't understand timing, but we do know that death is a part of every life. As Christians, we know that we will reunite and live happily eternally with our loved ones in the presence of our Father in Heaven.

"The Lord is close to the broken hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever." Praying for your strength and comfort.

Darren was a good friend of mine. People keep telling me that things will get better, that the pain will slowly fade, but I don't care if the pain goes away. If feeling pain is the only way I can feel connected to Darren, I'll take it. I couldn't stop crying all Monday (the day I found out). Later that day Casey and Gaylen came over to my house. Your family is truly strong, and I envy that. I know that Darren helped save the lives of 6 people, but I just want to see him agian. I know that I can't possibly know what you're going through, but I just wanted you to know that I am going through a lot of similar emotions. I know that Darren is still with us in spirit. I will never forget him. My heart will always hold him close. I suppose you simply must think of all the good that he accomplished, all of the lives he changed. Know that he's in a better place now, and that he's no longer in pain. That's the only way I make it through the day.

I didn't know Darren very well. But I think almost everybody knew who he was; his smile was famous and infectious. If I saw him walking down the halls, just passing by him made me feel happier. Becky and extended family -

When we heard that Darren was airlifted to the hospital, we felt a deep saddenness that can't be explained for your family over such a tradegy. While we are many miles apart, you are still a close family member and when we see you grieving, we grieve as well for you and the family. I recall getting to meet Darren when I visited a few years ago and do recall his lovely smile. My prayers are with you and we pray for each of you daily that God will be especially close and will draw you to Him for support during this difficult time. We will never understand the "why" but can lean on Him for strength. Please know that although I can't be there in person, my heart is definitely with you and you family. If you need ANYTHING, please know that I will be ready to do whatever I can to lift your load.

Our family and church will continue to carry you and the family on our prayer list.

I love you like a sister and wish I could be there for you and do hope to get to Wyoming this year to see everyone again.

There are no words that can help you with the loss of Darren, your best friend. We all love him and will miss him dearly. You have been so strong through all of this and I admire you so much for that. I know that I would not of been as strong as you are. Keep your head up and cherish all of the memories that we have with Darren. We love you very much.

Words cannot express the amount of pain and sorrow we feel with the loss of Darren, but although he has gone and we will all eventually move on from this tragedy, he will never be forgotten. Darren was a blessing in my life and I will miss him greatly...I'm sure you feel the same way.

Dear Jim and Family: We want you to know that we have been praying for you many times each day since we heard Darren was taken to Denver. Our hearts are truly hurting for you. Dispite this hurt we know that God's plans are perfect and can know Darren is with the Lord because of his decision for Christ. Praise God! We will continue to pray that God will bring you each the comfort that only He can bring.

May God give you the grace to somehow each day know His love and presence during these difficult days!
