Andrews, Beverly
Dear Katherine, Eddie, Kristine and Meg,
Over the past week, my mind has been flooded with memories of your mom. For the first 10 years of my life, your family lived next door to mine. Our parents were good friends who shared not only a property line, but joys and sorrows. Mostly, I remember them all laughing a lot.
Our neighborhood was certainly an example of "It Takes a Village to Raise a Child." How fortunate we were.
Your mother made the best brownies, grew gorgeous lilac bushes and had such a wonderful laugh. She gave so much to the community and was very respected.
I am sure that when your mother entered Heaven, there were the "3rd street moms" waiting to greet her. I can just picture Gerry Vincent, Eleanor Ross, Mickey Pickett, Paula Rix, Dorothy Heckart, June Shaw, Margaret Sehnert and my mom, Florence Burgess, with coffee cups and open arms.
Holding you close,
Connie Hirz Herrick
