Cooper, Melvin
Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Melvin was quite a guy, he will be missed by many.
Herman & Gina Blumenshine - 11/20/2018Thoughts and Prayers
Melvin was always friendly and had a smile and like to visit.
We are sorry to hear of Mel's passing! He did always have a story to tell and we enjoyed listening to them! Ironically he built the first house that we bought as a very young couple and we were always thankful that he was such a good carpenter as we sure didn't know what we were doing! Lol! He will be missed!
Bruce & Karla Hughes - 11/20/2018I always had a great time visiting with Melvin and enjoying his great humor. One of the fondest memories I have was watching how he drew relatives together after his brother Dale's death to help them work through their grief and sorrow. I will sure miss him.
Bill Courtney - 11/20/2018Uncle Melvin was quite a guy. I learned a lot from him about the construction industry and I'll always be amazed at his skills - especially with a framing square. I'm going to miss his sense of humor and that he loved to share a dance with my girls.
Chris Cooper - 11/20/2018Uncle Melvin was always happy to see me, whenever we ran into each other. He told me stories this past year about his memories of WWII. I never knew he had been a pilot until then, it was very interesting to listen to him reminisce about his experiences.
Condolences to all his family and my cousins Connie, Alan, & Loree and their families. I'll miss his quirky laugh and great smile and seeing him down at the Trailhead.
I never met Mr Cooper but heard of him through a friend that was up there for a while doing a job. Seems to have been a good fella. Lots of folks down here in Texas wishing him peaceful rest. God speed sir.
Kenny Meadors - 11/20/2018I am so sorry of your loss of Mel Cooper. He was a witty guy, cared about his friends and neighbors. May God Bless
you each and everyone. Riverton has lost a very good man.and will be missed. Jeannie Portlock
Although I have only known Mr. Coop for a few months, meeting him at the diner in Riverton, while there on business, an instant friendship was developed and one I will always cherish. I so enjoyed listening to his stories of his adventure called life. He was a proud veteran and a proud father, speaking of all his kids and how proud he was of them and loved them. May he Rest In Peace and may Coop’s family live in peace until we meet again in heaven. Texas Terri ??????
Terri Gardner - 11/20/2018Melvin was an institution - one of a kind. If he wasn't busy with a project, he was making the rounds socializing. He made sure no time was wasted from dawn to dusk. For having so many friends, it seemed he never forgot their name or life story. Still going strong the last time I saw him. Cooper family and relatives: he will be missed!
Sharon Bryant - 11/20/2018My family and I would like to extend our heartfelt condolences. May you find comfort in warm memories and coming promises. (Revelation 21:3,4)
Kristina - 11/21/2018It was really great to see Uncle Melvin and the rest of the family at the Cooper reunion last summer. The way he could turn anything into a joke, and be the first and last person on the dance floor, are reminders to be inspired by life. He'll be missed and remembered by everyone who knew him.
Court Sexton - 11/21/2018I will sure miss Uncle Melvin. He was one of a kind. I remember going to a dance at the fire academy with some buddies when I was 19 or 20 years old. When we got there, all the girls we wanted to dance with were busy dancing with my Great Uncle Melvin, who was a far better dancer than any of us! I’m really glad he was able to go to one last Veteran’s Day parade last week.
Geoff Cooper - 11/21/2018We have a lot of fond memories with Mel. He was like a second dad to me. He stood in as best man at my wedding. Our kids thought of him as another grandpa. We enjoyed spending time with him at the cabin. gave me a lot of good advice.... He'll always have a place in our hearts...
Jim & Jeanie Walton & family - 11/21/2018I am so sorry for your loss. May the words of our loving heavenly Father bring your family comfort and strength during this most difficult time as He promises to bring our loved ones back to life in a perfect world where there will be no more suffering or death (John 5:28-29 & Revelation 21:4).
Marty - 11/22/2018Sorry to hear about Melvin passing away. He will be missed. He and I shared a lot of good times at the Trail Head and at the "Honky Tonks".
I met Melvin over 5 yrs. ago going to auctions. He was a face that you would forward too and listen to his stories about building homes, serving in the Navy and sharing a photo with me of him during his service time. He would share his candy that he had in his pocket with you. He loved to dance and would ask me that one day he would dance with me. I enjoyed meeting him and looked forward to the next auction so I could have a conversation with him. Last summer his car broke down and I noticed him walking the highway home, I pulled over and gave him a ride home, hoping that I could find my way out on a dirt road back to the highway. Melvin gave direction on a pitch dark night after an auction and he was right on with the direction. He sure will be missed. God Bless you .
MaryKay Baldez - 11/26/2018I have fond memories of Melvin from my childhood at the Midvale store. My family thought a lot of him.
With heartfelt condolences.
