Yellowplume, Sr., John Royce
Our community lost a good man in John. I just saw him at the clinic a few weeks ago and he was so proud of his new truck. He related that his boys were getting ready to go off to college and you could see him well up with pride in that. I went to shake his hand and he said, "here, give me a hug!" I only knew John a few short years, but was touched by his generosity and warm and caring attitude. He always had a smile and a kind word. I enjoyed hearing him play and he took great pride in being the drum keeper. He will be greatly missed by many. Please know I am thinking of your family and the great loss you must feel right now.
Tania Dion - 8/20/2008I just seen John on Friday at Ethete Store and of course he had to terrorize me like he always had done. That was just John's manner; he knew how to make people smile and laugh. He watched my children grow up and John always encouraged them in and out of school. My daughter looked forward to seeing him this year at the high school, since he had helped her a great deal these past two years at Wyoming Indian. John was a very kind person with a warm personality and was always ready to help anybody. My family and I will miss hearing him sing and seeing him around the pow-wows and other traditional functions. My heart and condolences go out to the entire family and John will be missed dearly.
Tonya - 8/20/2008My condolences to John's family. I have known John for some time - I laugh about the crazy grade school things he did and said. He was always happy and I will always remember him in that way. For the family, I know you will miss him dearly, but stay strong. That is what he would want for you. Alta, stay strong for the boys. My prayers are with you, I only wish I could be there. This is an unbelievable loss - I cannot believe this has really happened. God bless all of you.

It is hard to understand why our Loved Ones are taken from us,but we have to put our Faith in God and try to continue our lives for their sakes because we have to also remember that they are in a better place now where there is foreverlasting LOVE and they are with all of our loved ones that have gone before us. He is also with Catfish who he always said he missed all the time. May the HOLY SPIRIT be with you now and forever, until we are all together again!!!

Carol Hopper - 8/21/2008I was shocked to hear of the loss of such a good man-John Plume. Our tribal family has suffered a great loss and I pray that the Great Spirit watches over all of his family. John was a kind, generous and very comical man who could make any one laugh in ANY situation. It is with a heavy heart that I write this, as John had helped my family with many wonderful songs during our darkest hour. He always made time to be there for anyone that requested his songs and always had kind words for everyone he came in contact with. May God Bless & watch over Alta & her family in their time of need.
