I first met Velma when I worked at Tom's Standard gas station (aka Trail Town Supply).  Six Iron Ranch had an account at Tom's. Velma would be running for parts, filling up a gas tank or bringing tires in to be fixed for the ranch. It didn't take long for Velma to be one of my favorite people to see and have short visits with. She always had a smile and a kind word to give you.                                          Little did I know back in the mid 70's and early 80's that I would end up being a Shoshoni school cook and that I would have the privilege of feeding  everyone of her grandchildren.        Sadly, I will be out of state and unable to attend her services. I will continue to treasure my memories of Velma, she was a very special lady. My sincere  condolences to all of her family. Hazel

Rich, Bob and families, what a grand lady! Velma and I had many visits at Big R, Ford, John Deere, and her home. One time in the heat of summer she sent down at my desk and fell asleep! When she woke she was a little embaresed but I made her laugh when I told her she certainly wasn't the first person to do that! Rest in peace Velma, I'm sure heaven has a special place resevered for you.

May her memory be eternal!

Velma was the hardest working woman I have ever known.  She shared stories with me that revealed how much she loved her family.  Velma was also extremely smart and loved learning by reading when possible.  Velma will be missed by many.

Heaven gained an Angel in you Sweet Lady. You will be missed by many. Rest in peace.

Bob, Rich and families, My deepest condolences on the loss of your most amazing mother. No one is finer than Velma, The example of  the most hard/strong , Trail Blazing women, working the Pingetzer Ranch, always having a kind heart and a smile. She touched so many people's lives and hearts. I am so thankful to see Velma over this past winter at the Wind River Rehad, and she talked to me about these pink dishes my mother (Patsy Steenbock)  had giving her long years ago, and she had given them back to me..I will surely cherish the dish set, as it is both part of my mother and Velma.   We Will all miss you Velma..You are example, that we all need to follow.

My deepest sympathies go to the families. When I was a little girl, I remember Velma being such a hard worker, so kind and ready to help anyone that needed help.  She was always cheerful with a smile on her face.  My heart goes out to all of you and I will be praying.

So sorry to hear about Velma's passing. Her legacy will live on through the amazing families who called her "Mom", "grandma" and "great grandma". I was always in awe of her strength and tenacity. May God bring comfort as you in the days ahead.
