Vernon, J. Holland
Dear Dorothy,Linden,and Family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this sad time.
May God bless you and keep you in his hands.
With our deepest sympathy;
The David family,
Dorothy, Linden and Family,
It was with great sadness that I read of the passing of Reverend Vernon. I think of him often and will continue to remember him. He baptized me, he married my wife Linda and I, and he baptized my son Steve. He was there when my Sister passed away at 39 years of age and helped me deal with the loss. But above all else, he is the man that led me to a life with Christ. He had a gentle, unassuming way of leading by example. Through him I learned what being a Christian is. I learned about God's love for us and the promise of eternal life. I met a man who cared about all he met. A man who lived life to the fullest and who has left his mark on this world. I am a better man for having known J Holland Vernon, and I thank God for bringing him into my life. There is a special place in Heaven for Reverend Vernon.
I am thinking of you all during this sad time. May you find peace in the knowledge that he is in a better place and surrounded by God's love. My prayers are with you,
George & Ruth Vernon - 11/16/2009

Aunt Dorothy and cousins,
We were so sorry when we received the news of Uncle Holland's passing. We wish we weren't so far away. Uncle Holland really enjoyed life in his healthier days.
A loving, sentimental man, who frequently enjoyed going back and exploring his roots.
He will be missed. God bless you all,
George and Ruthie Vernon
Dear Aunt Dorothy and cousins,
First, let me say I am so sorry for the loss of such a great man. What an honor it has been to have been here in Wyoming close to Uncle Holland the last few years.
Even as a little girl he was always bigger than life to me. He always looked just like I imagined someone from "way out west" would look like.
I felt like I had missed so much of Daddy's last few years (my own doing) but God put Uncle Holland and you all there to help put some closure on so many things.
God Bless you all.
With Deepest Sympathy,
Christian and Rachel
Dear Dorothy and Family,
I was so sorry to hear of Holland's passing. We all loved him. He reminded me of George in many ways. I pray God will comfort you and
give you strength during this difficult time. May his presence be with
you in this time of sorrow.
Isaiah 41:10 "For I am thy God; I will strengthen thee, I will keep thee."
I love you all!
Virginia Vernon
Love and prayers to all of you there in Riverton. Wish we could be there to join in this celebration time.

Holland was a huge man in mind, body and soul. He touched everybody he met. That includes me, Ruth, Ian and Rod.
Roger Thomas - 11/19/2009Dear Holland Vernon Family:
We are sadden to hear about Rev. Vernon. When we came to Riverton, I told my husband that I had been going to the Methodist Church only because I was raised as such. I told him that we didn't have to go there but he should check it out. Guess what. We stayed. He was a great man. When we went back to Riverton some years ago, we stopped in to see him. Thank goodness we did. We had a great visit. If we had the opportunity to go back to Riverton, we would in a heart beat. Still haven't won the lottery. Hum! Give my regards to all the family and especially to Dorothy. Love to all Ruth
Dearest Aunt Dorothy and Cousins,
We were saddened to hear of Uncle Holland's departure from this world but take solace in the knowledge that he is with his Savior. Uncle Holland was always an exciting character and he took delight in affirming us with his special handshake. We will always remember his western bolo ties and his stories of Sacajawea.
We are sorry that we could not make the journey for the service but are glad that we were able to see you all in Summer 2007.
We will keep you all in our hearts and prayers.
I am saddened to hear of J. Holland's death. I have many fond memories of him and of you, Dorothy, from the days we were all in the Yellowstone Conference. Kezia, thanks for bringing this sad loss to my awareness. Sympathies to all your family.
Love,
Barb (Heath) Estinson
Dear Vernon family,
I am saddened to hear of Reverend Vernon's passing. He was such a special person in my life over so many years. I will always remember him as a man who loved life and befriended everyone he met. He always had an interesting story to tell about his travels and it seemed he had been everywhere! I rejoice in the knowledge that Holland is busy telling his travelin' stories all over God's heaven today!
I also admired Reverend Vernon as a crusader for social justice and an example of God's love to all, regardless of life situation. The world surely could use more such men!
God bless your family and may wonderful memories be a comfort to you all.
