I did not know Nicholas but I just to thank him and his family for paying the ultimate sacrifice so that I and my children, and my grandchildren can live free. Rest in peace, soldier-man.

Sadness fills my heart for my best childhood friend Holly and her family. I know it was hard to see Nick go into the military but also know that you are very proud of him. I never got the chance to meet him personally, but loved to hear about him as well as the other family members from you during your recent visits back in Washington.

May peace fill your hearts along with loving memories of a son, brother, uncle, brother in law, and Grandson to help your whole family, immediate and extended during this rough time. I can guarantee that there were loving family open arms in heaven welcoming Nicholas as he passed through the veil.

Holly, I could not believe the news when my piano teacher told me about Nicholas. He was so talented I enjoyed getting to know him in music classes.
I can't imagine what you and your family are going through.
You will be in my prayers.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time...Nick was a wonderful, honorable young man. Looking back at the Little Leauge years, I remember Nick's bright smile and kind heart...he never, ever had a negative thing said to anyone...Nick truly had a genuine heart.

Dear Galloway Family,
Tonight, I had the privilidge of being a passenger on the flight from Dallas to Denver bringing your son home. What seemed like a routine work trip changed into something that I hope I never experience again, but am honored to be a part of. American Airlines made an announcement in our terminal, I telling us about Nicholas and his service to our country. All of us stood with tears in our eyes as our hearts broke for you all of you. Approximately 15 members of the military stood by, ready to meet the plane and take him home. A chaplin was there as well. Both Captains and all of the flight crew hugged the officer accompanying your son. American Airlines then announced throughout the flight that Nicholas was with us, where he was from and his age. I was especially touched, as your family is based in Riverton. My grandfather and father were born and raised in Jackson, WY. My father still lives there. Luckily, they asked us if we could send your family notes, which I did. Please excuse the large yellow sticky I used...it is all I had (I am so sorry). Once the plane landed in Denver, we were all asked to stay seated while your son was greeted by 8-10 full dress military men. Everyone looked out the plane windows to see the ceremony. Complete silence on the plane. A folded flag was brought out and opened up before they saluted Nicholas and then proceeded with the ceremony. I cannot stop crying for your family and your loss...and am in awe of a young man who was very young when the war started, but still displayed such unbelievable courage and joined the military to defend our freedom. Reading Nicholas' obituary - I am amazed at what he accomplished and all of his talents! I cannot imagine how deeply sad, but proud you must be. God bless each of you - your family gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Although I never met Nicholas, I will never, ever forget him. My family's thoughts and prayers are with each of you.

Galloway Family, Dick and I are so sorry for your loss. Your son was such a good young man and so kind and willing to serve. We are thankful for his decision to serve his country and his dedication to preserve our freedom. Words cannot change what has happened, but know that we are thinking of you and pray for comfort for your family.

My dear friend, Janis Allen, was on the plane that took Nicholas home. What an amazing young man. Although nothing will comfort you in your time of grief, I hope that your memories will surround and "hug" you for your lifetime, as well as knowing that Nicholas is watching over you from heaven. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Galloway family.

Leah, we cannot even imagine your heartbreak right now at the loss of your little brother. From reading his obituary and many of the comments, it is obvious Nicholas was an amazing person. He accomplished so much and touched so many lives during his short time here on earth. Please know you and your family are in the prayers of all the young women and leaders that you work with back here in Idaho. We love you and send you lots of long distant hugs! I went through training with Galloway in Missouri, he is a great guy. I would put anything on it that there wasnt a single person in our platoon that disliked him. Even our sgts liked him. Getting this news was a shock. Galloway was a good friend and battle buddy. He will always be remembered. His family will be in my prayers, God Bless

I am so very sorry for your loss. I worked with Nick at the RAC, he was a very personable and nice young man. You should be very proud of him and my heart breaks for all of you. to my dear friend holly and her family, i am so sorry for your loss, words could never be enough for what your going through at this time. i am sorry i never got the privilege of meeting your son it really sounds like he was a wonderful and accomplished young man. so many kids today are so lost or just sit around and play video games. your son had already proven himself to be such an asset to you his town his friends and then to our country, what a loss for us all here on earth. but i just can't help feel that he was such a beautiful young man that god felt he was already such an blessing to others that he was ready to use him in heaven, what takes some of us a life time to reach god he did in such a short time, that just further speaks volume of his character and who he was. holly and bill you were very blessed that god trusted you with such a treasure and you clearly did god proud in the way you raised your son. i know this does not take away your pain but i hope it will ease it.i am sorry holly that i cannot be there for you but you are such a wonderful person as was he that i am sure you have lots of support but call me any time if you need me, sincerely kathy thiessen
