Francis William Carlson (Bill) of Shoshoni, WY died Monday October 21, 2013. He was 79.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday October 25, 2013 at Davis Funeral Home. Viewing will be held Thursday October 24, 2013 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Davis Funeral Home.
Mr. Carlson was born on January 24, 1934 in Scottsbluff, NE to Oscar H. and Muriel Carlson.
He married LouAnn Rigler on January 18, 1953.
Bill graduated from Shoshoni High School in 1952. He farmed in Missouri Valley for 54 years before retiring. Bill also served in the US Army as a mountain climber. Bill enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He also enjoyed gardening, canning, and playing games; especially bridge. Bill enjoyed having his family together at Christmas where he made his oyster stew and his special chili. Family and friends would always stop in to share in his delicious cinnamon rolls and great conversation.
Bill is survived by sons; Mitch Carlson and fiancé Kim Jennings, Brad Carlson and former wife Donna, of Riverton. Greg Carlson and wife Vickie, of Shoshoni. Daughters; Melody Jager, and Linda Remer of Casper. Brother Robert (Bob) Carlson and wife Jeanne, Sisters: Darle Null, Joan Rivers, Janet Frederick and husband Ken, Louise Yost and husband John, Brother-in-law Walt Runyan and wife Debbie of Oklahoma. Grandchildren Teresa and Charlie DeWitt and their children Kaylee, Kayden, and Korbin; Billy and Sheri Carlson and their children, Kyle, Hallie, and Emma LouAnn; Missy and John Metzler and their children, Cambree and Brenna; Bobbi and Heath Overfield and their children Lexi and Hayden; Brook Miller and her children Callie and Cade; Becky and Harley Walters and their daughter Elie; Bridget and Jason Gardner and their children Lainee and Landon; Zack Carlson; Tyler Carlson and companion Jenni O’Neil; Michelle Rake and husband Chris, and their children Shawn and Jacob; Stephen Jager and wife Ashley, and their daughter Jasmane; Robert Jager and fiancé Alissa Tucker, Alycia and Clint Asmundson and their son Gunner; Skylar Remer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife LouAnn Carlson, parents, grandparents, sister, Naureen Franklin and Son-In-Law Steve Jager.
Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice, care of Davis Funeral Home, 2203 W. Main Street, Riverton, WY 82501. Reception will be held at Hillcrest Baptist following graveside services.
