Mary Wise, 66, of Riverton, died at her home on Saturday, January 10, 2015. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 16, 2015, at 10:00 am Davis Funeral Home.
Mary Louise McKinney was born on December 12, 1948 in Riverton, WY to Sterling and Lois (Isaacs) McKinney. She was one of four children and was raised in Fremont County. She moved from Lander to Riverton her senior year of high school and graduated from Riverton High School. She later moved to Jeffrey City until 1979 when she moved back to Riverton and lived until her passing.
She was married to Fred Wise and together they raised two daughters, Roberta and Susan and a son, Robert. After Fred passed away in 1988, she was a companion with Phillip Krause until his passing in 2009.
She was a past member of the Riverton Eagles.
She started working for the Riverton Ranger Newspaper in June of 1990 and retired in October of 2010.
Her family said that she enjoyed horseback riding, camping, hunting, fishing, word search puzzles and jig saw puzzles. She had a pigeon named Charlie that was her favorite pet.
She is survived by her daughters, Roberta Schleicher and her husband, Dale of MN and Susan Frink and her husband Robert of Riverton; her brothers, Francis McKinney and Harold McKinney; her sister, Shirley Spurlin; and her grandchildren, Amanda, Amie, Travis, Lacey, Elizabeth and Steven; and two great grandchildren, Rosalie and Alice.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sterling and Lois McKinney; her husband, Fred Wise; her son, Robert Wise and her companion, Phillip Krause.
