A memorial service for Marshall M. “Butch” Watne, 75, will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Davis Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 4, 2015. Pastor Ian McFarland will be officiating. Inurnment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. There will be a reception/celebration of life immediately following the service at the Elk’s Lodge.

Mr. Watne, Butch, Dad, Grandpa died October 29, 2015 in Riverton Wyoming. He was born December 14th in 1939 in Bismarck, North Dakota, son of Melvin Orlando and Twila Mae (Dralle) Watne.

He graduated from high school in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He then attended the University of Wyoming from 1958 until 1962, when he received his degree in music.

He taught vocal and instrumental music in Hulett, Evanton, Kelly Walsh in Casper and Riverton. Mr. Watne moved to Riverton in 1974 and taught his last 22 out of 30 years at the Riverton Middle School.

Marshall was a member of the B.P.O.E. 1963, Casper Civic Symphony and “Times a Wastin” big band. His favorite thing to do was hunting and fishing with his friends.

Survivors include his sons Kevin (Anne) Watne of Los Angeles, CA and Marshall (Penny) Watne of Hixson TN; seven grandchildren Holden, Reed, India, Frances, Colin, Brooke and Marshall; his step children Judson (Lynn) Ben (Emily) Zachar and Melissa (Kevin) Mercure ; his beloved sister Karen Epler and his nieces Suzanne, Kim and Lisa and nephew Randy Epler.

Mr. Watne was preceded in death by his brother in law Arden Epler and his nephew Scott Epler.
