Funeral services for Phyllis “Penny” Maria Robertson, 71, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 5, 2022 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Sacajawea Cemetery.  A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, December 4, 2022 at the Fremont Center, Fremont County Fairgrounds.

 

Mrs. Robertson passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 in Riverton, Wyoming surrounded by her family and friends.

 

Penny was born on October 22, 1951, daughter of Ernest and Lucille Willow.  She attended Brigham Young University “BYU” in Provo, Utah and took First Responder courses.  Penny worked as a First Responder for 30+ years.  She also worked for Wind River Cares Optician 7 years and 40+ for The Community Health Representative and EMT responder as well as an eye glass manager for joint tribes for 22 years and volunteered at the first aid trailers.  Penny served on the Pow-Wow committee, Christmas Committee, CYO Church Committee and Battered Women’s Service for 12 years.  She also volunteered as a church reader, eucharistic server and parish council.

 

On August 11, 1978, she married Deland “Dale” Robertson, Sr.  She made her home and was a life-long resident on the Wind River Reservation with her late, loving husband, Dale, who passed away on August 7, 2015.

 

Some things that brought Penny enjoyment were playing at the casino, cooking, cook outs and beading as well as attending Pow-Wows and the farmers markets and watching the Longmire and Yellowstone series.  Most importantly, Penny enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

 

Survivors include her children, David Robertson, Cheryl Headley, Gladys Hill and Ivy Robertson and her husband, Alan Jay Spoonhunter; grandchildren, Rosemary, Faith, Gabriella, Jayden, Catherine Headley, Daylene, Mary, Davilynn, Phillip, Gabriel Robertson, Alayah, Ashlee, Hayden Spoonhunter, Serene, Jaylee Spoonhnter, Jarissa, Deland, Garrett, Deshland Robertson, Nykeen, Eliah, Cordlen Hill, Rain Sherman; great grandchildren, Amelia, Adonis Teichert, Madaleigh Bearstail, Drew Oldman, Cedar Green; brothers, Alfred Willow, Sr., Richard (Kathleen) Brannan, Nelson White, Dorsey Willow, Acorn Holds the Enemy, Verne Willow, George Moss, Ryan Gambler, Lydell Whiteplume and Gary Sims; sisters, Wanda, Terry, Beverly, Grace Willow, Pow wow Jefferson, Mavis, Alvera Willow, Becky Bishop, Kathy Vann, Rita Willow, Marcene Willow, Laverne White, Margie Willow, Sarah Littleshield and Theresa Marie Wells; nieces, Kayla Hill, Loretta and Alana Whiteman, Tashina Tillman, Rita Lopez, Tara and Valene Brown, Miken Oldman, Willow Manzanarez, Alicia Willow, Yvonne Willow, Alta and Sydney Willow; nephews, Shane Spoonhunter, DJ Moss, Wendall and Theodore Moss, LeGrand Willow, Charlie Willow, Alfred Willow, Jr., Wolfe Willow, Naroy Willow, Reuben Quiver, Terry J. Mrs. Robertson was preceded in death by husband, Deland “Dale” Robertson, Sr.; daughter, Mary Willow; son, Deland Robertson, Jr.; grandsons, Gerald Headley, III and Eli C’Bearing; parents, Ernest and Lucille Willow; brothers, Ernest Willow, Jr., Douglas Willow and Norman Willow;  nieces, Sonya Willow, Ivora Moss, Shawna Dewey; nephews, John Moss, Virgil Whiteman, Byron Willow, Jayon Willow; aunts and uncles, Gladys Jefferson, Dorothy and David Jefferson, Lucy Willow, Francis Whiteman, Garylee Whiteman,  Theodore Robertson and Ivy Pandoah.
