William “Bill” Maddox Copeland, Jr., 65, of Dubois, Wyoming passed away Monday, April 22, 2024. A Worship Service for Jesus to Celebrate Bill’s Life will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Mountain Grace in Dubois. A reception will immediately follow the service at Mountain Grace.
William Maddox Copeland, Jr. was born March 25, 1959 in Atlanta, Georgia to William Maddox Copeland, Sr., and Gloria (Maddox) Copeland. Bill grew up and attended grade schools in McDonough, Georgia and graduated Wooward Academy in Atlanta with the class of 1977. He graduated the University of Georgia with his Bachelor’s Degree in General Agriculture.
On July 12, 1986, Bill married his college sweetheart at the St. John Methodist Church in Atlanta. The couple moved to Dubois in March of 1988 starting their family. Together the couple started East Fork Veterinary Services in June of 1988. In September of 1990, Bill began working at the Diamond D Ranch where his lifelong dream of ranching was fulfilled.
Bill’s number one love was Jesus. He was a faithful member of Mountain Grace where he served as chairman of the Elder Board. He was a spiritual father to many people of all ages. His desire was the same as Jesus that all would come and know the Father.
Bill loved fishing and family; family was so important to him. He especially loved beach vacations where four generations of family would come together. Bill’s kids and spiritual kids are his legacy.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Carolyn Copeland of Dubois; daughter, Lindsay Copeland of Dubois; son Riley and wife Bailey Copeland of Centennial, Wyoming; parents, William and Gloria Copeland of McDonough, GA; sister, Allison and her husband Eddie Ausband and their three children, McKenzie and husband Patrick Lawson and their four children, Branch, Lulie, Copeland, and Bradley; Shelby and husband Taylor Camp, Tripp and his fiancé Wendy Harrison; sisters-in-law, Sharon and Lou Wendel and their daughter, Rachel, Patricia Atkinson and Susan Wise, and many extended family and friends he loved very much.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Leonard Harvey and Ethel Lynn Maddox and Willis Eli and Sara Maddox Copeland.
