Funeral services for Sammie J. Hill of Riverton are at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3, at the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton with the Rev. Rex Whitman of the First Baptist Church officiating. Friends and family will be invited to speak. Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Riverton.
Visitation is from 6 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 2, at the funeral home.
Ms. Hill died in a one-vehicle accident 30 miles west of Casper Sunday evening, Nov. 28, 2010. She was 57.
Sammie Jean Cox was born in Springfield, Mo., on Nov. 17, 1953, the daughter of John Sam Cox and Velma Elizabeth (Murdock) Cox.
She was graduated from Wind River High School in Pavillion where she was involved in FFA and 4-H.
Ms. Hill worked as an administrative assistant for CES in Riverton and had lived in Fremont County for over 50 years.
She was of the Christian faith and attended the First Baptist Church of Riverton.
Her family said she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, baking, sewing, and crafts.
She is survived by sons, Jon Hill and A.J. Hill; daughter, Afton Moore, and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother.
Memorials may be made to the Humane Society, in care of the Davis Funeral Home, 2203 West Main Street, Riverton, WY 82501.
